I think Mahindra has created a sort of "identity crisis" for themselves... a perception that they are just another importer in it only for the money any way they can make it... at least within the North America market. Folks now regularly speak of the "Real" Mahindras (i.e., those made in India), the Mitsubishi/Japanese Mahindras, the TYM/South Korean Mahindras and the Chinese Mahindras (now, it appears, two distinct sub-brands). God only knows where the next new "Mahindra" will come from. The Mahindra "brand" has been watered down to mean any tractor from anywhere that can be painted red and imported into the USA. This can't be a very good thing.

Harsh words to be sure... but I hate to see a good brand name degraded in this way.

Dougster,
Talk about identity crisis..........how about a John Deere brush hog made in France? That is what I had before I bought the Big RED Beast.

Hey Dougster.

Come on, admit it. Nothing better than that made in China.
Not even France.

Seriously though, have you been here : Wallace Tractor and Equipment NEPA Compact Tractors Lake Ariel Poconos Honesdale PA

and seen the New 8560 ---- looks interesting. Maybe your next toy ?

Also, further down they are showing a 45 HP prototype " Indian made ".

When I look at it, looks like made in China but who knows.

Now where is Paul when we need some insider info on this prototype.

Take care and have a good one.

Tom

The 8560 is still a myth as far as I am concerned. I'll start to believe in them when I see one on a dealer's lot. That is the machine that the old Edster wants. Me? I'll still take a nice (slightly used) 7520!!!

The other machine is supposedly Mahindra's India-made replacement for the TYM-made 4110 (supposedly soon to be discontinued as a MahindraUSA imported product). It better be damn good or I'll be sticking with TYM!!!

Hi All,

See, come to the experts and you will find.

Didn't know about the Proto 45 HP Mahindra so thanks for the heads up.

Have a great evening

Paul,

I agree with the conclusions in the article you posted and think that Jinma owners\importers may be in for a difficult time in the near future.

Jinma's were the most imported Chinese tractor into the U.S and if production ceases or prices inflate to the same level as the Mahindra, then why buy a Jinma. At least the Chinese Mahindra comes with a 2 year parts\labour warranty.
Biggest problems may be getting parts for those already imported but then again there could be a cottage industry set up where parts are produced by other Chinese manufacturers for Jinmas.

Getting to the crunch for Chinese tractor manufacturers as not that many left. Only a couple come to mind off hand and they are Dong Feng and Foton but I am sure there are lesser known others.

Should be interesting times.

Later and have a good one.

Tom

Has the 8560 become invisible due to Mahindra having trouble meeting the Tier Requirements for Diesel Engines??...

Reinventing the diesel engine

Being dirt poor, I strongly prefer "slightly used" for the cost savings!

And in combination with a "slightly used" Bradco 611???

Delicious!!!

By the way, notice any family resemblance?

You'll have to ask the old Edster about that! He has been tracking "progress" on the 8560 much closer than I have!

I'm the 7520 guy... ... Ed is Mister 8560!

This isn't worth a new thread..but ......

Anyone else think this backhoe is a bit small for this tractor?
90 pto hp, weighs 10,474lbs...with a koyker 800 backhoe attachment. I guess if you want something big enough to utilize the available horsepower you'd buy a 710G...
