Default TC 45 dies AGAIN

So, if you don't know the story, last year (june) we bought a brand new TC45DA (cab), all the goodies, brand new.
Of it's first 30 days, 20 were spent in the shop. new wiring harness, new transmission housing, etc etc etc.
We finally told New Holland either give us our money back or give us another one. To their credit, they gave us another one.
It showed up in July.

Until today, 232 hours, this one has been fine.
Today, it pulled the same bull**** that the other one used to. It worked fine, and then refused to restart. Says the PTO is on, when clearly the PTO is not on. I even bypassed the switch completely. Nothing. I spent all goddamn day ****ing with it and moving equipment around so I could tow this POS up onto the trailer so I can waste half the day monday moving it to the dealer.

I'm beyond pissed. ****ing safety bull**** that creates more problems than it solves.

Just for reference, my Massey Ferguson (that costs about 1/3 as much) has twice as many hours and has had exactly one problem. (broken PTO switch, wouldn't turn on, didn't strand me an hour from home). My NH TN75 has been flawless.

I know why they renamed the TC45 to 242098654, because the TC name is junk.

Damn, I'm mad. (can you tell?)

Check this one out! Gave $17000.00 for this trade in. Engine was just rebuilt by another dealer. Engine went bad a short time later and had to sell it at over $10000.00 Loss. This is the 3rd NH that kicked me in the you know what.

Brutal
I like NH's, but damn, the TC35/40/45 line is flawed. And no amount of them editing posts on TOS will change that fact.

I sincerely doubt that this tractor will make it thru to the end of the loan. Which is damn disappointing.

Sure sounds like there might be a systemic problem with this series of NHs...

I hadn't noticed.

Seriously, sorry to hear about this LC. Good luck with the dealer. Let's hope it is no big deal to get fixed (other than the usual & customary hassle).

it's not that I"m worried they can't fix it (since I've found a competent dealer 1 hour away)
it's what happens the next time, and the time after that, or at 3am in a snowstorm, etc
Damn thing has to work, or at least not fail so i can't get it home. Limp home is ok, not good, but ok, totally dead is not ok

Have you spoken to NH district management??

Could you get the NH dealer to take it back in trade for something...anything... different??

The wife had a good idea last night. When i called the dealer service dept, he said that I could jump the starter solenoid and it would start as long as someone was sitting the seat (since it thinks the PTO is on) and I could then load it.
Well, great idea, but damn if I could find any of the solenoids, finally decided to tow it. Anyway, the wife says "why not have them put a button in that bypasses the key so at least you could start it"
Which is a damn good idea, just put that button somewhere (under the seat) so at least sitting in it, it still could start.

Very doubtful that the dealer would be willing to do that for you... liability issues, ya know... but he might be willing to show you how it could be done if someone were unsafe enough to try it!
