I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

The Media PMO yesterday.
They where telling about hard times at wallmart. Seems there main grocery sales are down; customers are buying dry goods (i guess thats code for staple foods).
The media claimed Consumer confidence as the reason. What planet do they live on.
People are hurting. Many hurting real bad.

I suppose we always could have figured that when media, industry, or politics mentioned "Consumer Confidence", it never had anything consumers or their confidence. They're just referring to people's willingness and ability to spend money. So.... as long as people are not flat broke and starving, they're confident consumers.

I work from home. I can't imagine what the fuel prices would be doing to me if I had to do a lot of driving, either to commute to a job, or to run a business.

No offense intended... and yes, things are tough all over (trust me, I know about this!!!)... but the way I read this article, Ganassi & Franchitti's lack of sponsorship was more about their lack of success on the track than lack of Coors Light beer sales or advertising budget. Franchitti was 41st in points with a best finish of 22nd in 10 starts.

Or am I missing something here?

Yes...even though they were out of the running...Each car gets a bit of screen time and discussion time at every qualifying event and every race...so it is advertising, plus it is proven by studies that NASCAR supporters are the MOST LOYAL when it comes to product support......If you look back thru the history of this activity(sport?)...You'll see some fairly big name sponsors of some pretty crummy drivers...Heck...even John Deere did it a few years ago...But if they were in any of the wrecks, their product was discussed...
What that expression?...As long as my name is in the paper, for whatever reason, get the spelling right...

So are you saying that it's time for Dougster Industries to maybe jump in and try to save the Ganassi & Franchitti racing team?

Better ship me a whole lot of that unsold Coors Light beer before I make that decision!
