Default Jay Checking In but Not Out

Although I tend to post here with some frequency I just want to let you know that I probably would be posting with greater frequency if I was not dealing with that rare form of pneumonia (Bronchiolitis Obliterans Organizing Pneumonia with Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis) for the past year. To make a long story short the BOOP has returned with a vengence when my Prednisone was lowered and the side effects to the Prednisone- Diabetes requiring both injectible and oral form diabetic medications as well as peripheral neuropathy medications have increased. I now need to take O2 whenever I exert myself and/or walk more than 500'. My dogs quickly realized we were going for a walk when I don the O2 pack. I am still "allowed" to use the tractor without O2, but I am afraid to stir up the unknown antigen that is causing the BOOP. I have a lot of blood samples traveling the USA right now and more tests scheduled. I just want to thank those who have supported me through this, and to let everyone know that I still manage to get in trouble with SWMBO with regularity. I will say there is a benefit to increased Prednisone Jay

We are here for you Jay! Keep us informed and let us know if/how we can ever help! I'll even break my most solemn of rules and actually go into Harbor Fright if you find you need something from there! My gourmet recipe gruel and Starbucks Coffee too... whatever it takes!

How is that for an interesting offer!

Be well Jay...

I can tell you what they will find after more blood tests(about 2 liters of blood...)...You are now anemic...

Take care...and think positive...

OH, you need to ask if YOU earn frequent flier miles for all the trips YOUR BLOOD is currently doing...

Thanks everyone . I look at gruel as comfort food nowadays . I will say the Prednisone has some benefits. Jay

I still consider it "poverty chic" cuisine... and a key staple of the poor old Dougster's post-layoff "survival" diet... but whatever floats your boat!

Watch that damn Prednisone old Jayster! Sometimes you really scare me!!!

Be Well...and thankful you don't have my missus family chipping in with home remedies. Last one for stuffy head/chest congestion was: vinegar with cayene pepper and garlic oil...to be sipped twice a day! YUCK!!!

Sometimes those old family remedies really do work. Gunmaker yours sounds more like a salad dressing, but I appreciate the strength of vinegar, garlic, and cayenne. My favorite is a jigger or two of rum, a stick of cinnamon, a slice of lemon or lime, in a mug of boiling water. After a couple of those you start to feel pretty good about feeling poorly . Dougster if the economy continues to deteriorate poverty chic cuisine will become the norm. I will add that with my higher load of Prednisone I am getting quite a bit more adult supervision again . My wife and I are still planning to go on our two week vacation the following week in the Adirondacks if I get the “OK” by the doctors next week. I will be carrying quite a few O2 canisters in the truck. I hope I do not get pulled over as I might get “talked to” by Homeland Security. I even rigged up an O2 carrier for my little sailboat . Jay
