- Highlights of UAW-Ford deal
- Overtime paid only for work in excess of 40 hours per week, instead of eight hours per day.
- Cost-of-living adjustment eliminated.
- Performance bonus eliminated.
- Christmas bonus eliminated.
- Easter Monday holiday cut.
- More buyouts offered.
- Any product commitments to Mexico must first be discussed with the UAW.
- Self-directed mechanical skilled trade teams to be established in pilot locations.
- Jobs bank program eliminated.
- Supplemental pay for laid-off workers capped at one year.
- Temporary assistance program added for laid-off workers.
- VEBA terms renegotiated to allow half of Ford's obligation to be paid with stock.

Actually they wont even offer that much and they wont have too once they go into CH 11. They should have been in there already, booted the UAW and the benefits for everybody (past & present), and saved us the billions already. It was exactly what we said it was-throwing money away back when we debated it only a few short months ago. Time for the real answer that was always the clear option. |
