Angry Another example of American workmanship

    Workers removed wrong roof
    Published: Sept. 28, 2009 at 5:01 PM
BREAKERS WEST, Fla., Sept. 28 (UPI) --

A Florida man whose roof was removed by workers who confused his house for a neighbor's said he is demanding his roof be replaced free of charge.
David Fischer, 76, said he was forced to return home early from a vacation this summer when Bossler Roofing contacted him to say the roof of his Breakers West house had mistakenly been removed, WPTV, West Palm Beach, Fla., reported Monday.
Joseph Rodowicz, a lawyer for Bossler, said officials are still unsure of how exactly the mistake happened.
"You know, quite frankly, I don't know. I don't know what took place on that day … but in the end we simply acknowledge that there was a mistake," he said.
Fischer said the company refused his demands to have the roof finished free of charge. Bossler offered to finish the roof at a steep discount -- Fischer would only have to pay his insurance -- but Fischer said he does not believe he should have to pay at all.
"My feeling is they just playing games they trying to take advantage because I'm an old person," he said.
Fischer said he is considering a lawsuit against the company if the issue is not resolved soon.

How could they make a mistake like that.

If he's considering a lawsuit, then he will probably get more than a new roof.

At least this "mistake" did not take place in some operating room. IMHO the roofing company should at minimum pick up the homeowner's deductible. Jay

I had a funny experience where I was expecting a delivery of 20 yards of topsoil at a customers house using a carrier I normally wouldn't use because of the location and time saved. They promised to be there at a certain time and as time went buy it was obvious they weren't showing - so some calls were made and re-verifying addresses excreta, turns out the driver transposed the house number - so I take a drive around the corner and there it was 20 yards right smack in the middle of this persons driveway - LOL....I called them with the good news and told them I would be requesting a refund from my CC company, and you guys can work out the details of recovering the 20 yards of material that blocked this poor owners driveway....I also re-scheduled the job for 1 week later, figuring all the dust would settle on that fiasco that they caused....LOL

Jay I thought about putting this when I read it.
I believe they knew the old man had money, and just tried to take advantage of him... But I hope they make them fix his roof.

    About a operating room:

It's been a while since this happened, but a "woman surgeon" at a hospital about 30 miles from me.. Took a man in for an operation to have his "left leg" removed, but she removed his "right leg."

After they took him to his room in the hospital, the family noticed that she took off the wrong leg... later they had to take him back in and take off the bad leg...(Very sad for him.).. He got millions from that, and she still is a surgeon.

It's sad and scary both ways. Two people permanently "scarred". The saddest part of this is that two lawyers really made out as a result of all this pain and suffering. Jay

    Paul,

I can't find it nowhere on the web

She has been arrested several times on other things, and she also tried to run for Senate, But got caught up in "bribery."

I never was a patient of hers (Thank God!) but I've seen her a lot in town, and in the hospital... She is loaded with money, maybe she has paid to keep it off the web

Do you remember the movie "misery" ???

That's what she looks like and acts like.

My buddy made a deal to have a concrete slab poured in his back yard for a porch. Something like 20x15. It was to be done in one day and he came home from work, no slab. Anyway he gave them a few days thinking it was a problem with other customers or weather. After a week he called them and they said they did it and the invoice was just mailed to him. He said it was not and long story short the contractor came over and soon realized they did the work 2 houses down.
