Points: 0 | Interesting, but...just a few notes on Did You KNOW #1... Raw Numbers can be impressive to make points...
Though I have never seen any articles conclusively demonstrating how many geniuses there are in CHINA or INDIA and that they are using the genius to do anything to improve their countries situation...
They completely overlooked the fact that the current Chinese political system actually thwarts breakthroughs, because it denigrates the individual...see Ayn Rand's The Virtue of Selfishness...
They forgot to mention how much of that data being generated is crap...
In fact, when I used to be in DC...there used to be huge arguments over keeping EVERYTHING in archive, instead of intelligent pruning...
The segment on education investments was interesting until you realize that INDIA and CHINA still send their best to the US for their upper degrees...EXCEPT in MEDICAL RESEARCH dealing with DNA and stem cells and that lead has shifted to EUROPE!!!!
They overlooked the facts that CHINA and INDIA are edging towards a major crisis in FOOD...or the lack there of...
And the $100 computer project was slightly derailed recently, because of price increases...
Some of the tempoing reminded me of the joke...
It takes a woman nine months to have a baby...
NO MATTER HOW MANY MEN YOU PUT ON THE JOB | Paul in VT
I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

However I have seen plenty regarding the mind set of competitiveness set forth over there to have children with the higest education, degrees and tested IQ's. Have many Chinese friends/cow-workers and have seen it myself (china) to validate this. Countless TV programs as well pointing this out. While Americans dumb it down, those two countrys smart it up - Americans will lose in the end because the price of education is unaffordable here, but student visa's and other incentives (foreign govt sponsored) fall in favor for those students overseas, to come here and get educated and then leave.
As for the price of PC's these days, they are the cheapest they have ever been in history IMHO | | | |

Points: 0 | Have seen this video before. There are some strong points being made and I'm afraid the those that need to become aware of the facts presented will be too busy watching MTV or hanging out in the mall so to speak.
We're fat and sassy and the young generation in developing countries are hungry for education and the chance to move up the ecconomic lader. You'll find people with 4 yr degrees doing entry level jobs for foriegn companies just waiting for a chance to get a position making use of their education. And while biding their time they observe and learn how capitalism works in the West. The young professionals I know have received a decent education from a book learing standpoint but lack the hands on experience most in the West have had all their life. They are gaining that experience quickly when working for a foriegn company. Moving from company to company is common ever year or two gaining the knowledge of numerous companies.
I fear that by the time we wake up and see what is happening to this country and how we are loosing our position as #1, it will be too late. We're going through what every great nation throught out history has. The climb to success, sitting back and enjoying the good life and then comes the fall.
As for the Gov in China, the younger friends I have in China believe communism will fall in another couple changes in leadership. Capitalism is alive and growning in China and with the taste of freedom that brings, the young are not going to go back to the ways of the past.
