Me neither and this happened in my back yard so to speak. Don't recall any politicians being involved. Have been to Antelope several times but not out to the ranch where these fools called home. At most, the criticism of gov would be for those that let this group establish a town on farm property that wasn't zoned for such development. It did take long enough for Uncle Sam to enforce our imigration laws and kick the BaggyOne back to India.

Remember one fall when this was going on there were a bunch of posters that looked like targets floating around talking about hunting season. "Hunting Season, Bagwan today."

Don't think so literally......we are not discussing the Governor in this case...we are discusssing a town's government being corrupted by transplanted citizens...

They tried to take over the Government of Antelope by bussing in homeless to be voters...

Should have done a little more typing gov = government.

Don't recall the Antelope Take over quite they way. Antelope was/is a very small town. Only had a handful of residents at that time that were mostly seniors. Maybe a couple doz voters at most. The first time I was there, there were a number of building and houses closed including the school/church. The Rajneesh opened a little restaurant/coffee shop in town. Seem to remember them doing some sneaky stuff to get their feet in the door. Didn't take much effort to get the controlling vote in the town by having some out on the ranch moving to town. Much of the stuff that made the new happened in another town, the county seat as I recall.

Think the action in Antelope was a back-up plan in case they lost their fight over the development out on the ranch.

    Census data from 2000:
As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 59 people, 27 households, and 18 families residing in the city. The population density was 116.8 people per square mile (44.7/kmē). There were 41 housing units at an average density of 81.2/sq mi (31.0/kmē). The racial makeup of the city was 93.22% White and 6.78% Native American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.39% of the population.

There were 27 households out of which 14.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.0% were married couples living together, 3.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% were non-families. 29.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.19 and the average family size was 2.72

    Mighty Governor goes down.
I thought this was going to be about Jim McGreevy, the ex-gov of NJ.
