Certainly no hot weather to be found over here in Eastern MA. And it has got to have been the wettest, coolest, stormiest summer in ages. They say that is likely to mean a dry winter on the way... at least statistically speaking. That's yet another reason I am blowing off my snowplowing biz for winter 2008/2009. If I can't make enough money to justify it in a snowy year, I certainly can't survive another bone dry winter like we had in 2006/2007.

We're just getting over a miserable 4 days of weather. Had a heat wave come in and brought along with it humidity. Temps in the mid to high 90's and humidity running in the 70% to 90% RH. We ain't use to the humidity. We were up to a lake with the family trying for a pleasant extended weekend get-a-way. I'm sure the humidity was worse at the lake than here in the valley. The heat wave started to break yesterday but humidity still hanging in there. Temps in the low 70's yesterday morning but if you moved, you broke out in sweat.

Suppose to get a number of thunderstorms coming through the next couple days which is unusual for us. Had a nice short shower this AM. Think we got more rain in the 15 min it stood around than we've had in the last 3 months all put together.

See a couple of you talking about geese. Is this what you are talking about? Quite a few wild ducks and geese at the lake. The Geese are a PNW variety, Dusky's. They are a smaller Canada Goose. They typ winter here in the valley and don't make the full trip down to S Cal & Mexico. They don't seem to be concerned over humans. A couple of these geese were eating corn out of my hand with little encouragement.

I hope the old Jayster had a good vacation up in New York state last week. It was wet as hell here in Eastern, MA... just one day without a major torrential downpour or three. My basement flooded twice (thanks in large part to the GF's "handiwork") and is still soaking wet as we speak.

My phone went out (as it often does in very wet weather) early last week, but it came back on Wednesday and has been mostly okay ever since. Phone company has still got to come out and fix it, but they can only fix it during a downpour since that is the only time it gives out!

Yesterday was real nice and so far so good for today. Not a warm summer so far - I think I've only used the AC twice.

Hi,

Wet here also. Hard to get 2 nice days in a row without rain and torrential downpours at that. Don't have basement issues as long as power is on but if power goes off and don't get the generator going fast enought, then do have water issues.

Kind of laughed re Dougster and phone issues as this past weekend is one of the few on which it did not rain but I had to spend most of the time right around the house waiting for the Telephone guys to come and fix a problem they created on Friday.

What a joke........

Anyways, gotta get ready for rain again as expected to start anytime now.
Have a great evening

Tom

Here 2 weeks ago I was moaning about hot humid weather and now it is seeming more like fall. Have had some light rain several times this past week and yesterday had to fire up the heater in the AM. 50° yesterday morning and this AM was in mid-40's and heater going again. Yesterday toppped out below 70°.

While not wanting to see any more 90+ days, I sure would like to see another 4-6 weeks in the mid to high 70's.

Last week the trees were just starting to change color in the higher elevations of the Adirondacks. I am noticing more aggressive wasp and hornet behavior around the house this week. Jay

Wonderful weather except for the allergens. Gets down to about 50'f or under at 5am then gets up to 80' by 2pm, love the temps, hate the sinus irritants.

The only other issue is not enough good weather left for the jobs I need to finish.
