Default Fall in the air

Anyone seeing signs of an early fall? This past week I've seen a number of maples and other shrubs taking on fall colors. Wonder if an early fall/winter is coming our way or maybe it's just the fact we've had a dry summer.

Still too early for

I think you're right...we've noticed some premature turning color and falling of leaves. The temps have been unusually low for this time of year, with o'nite temps occasionally down to the high 40's/low 50's. No sign of global warming here!!

Hi,

Well it is wet here. Can't seem to get 2 days in a row without rain. No signs of Fall here. Crops are doing the best some of them have done in years.
Last year didn't have to mow the grass but once per month and even then it was iffy about whether or not I should. This year, if I don't mow once per week I have a heck of a time with it.
Can't get a lot of projects done because of the rain.

Calling for Sept\Oct to be really nice around this area.

Have a good one.

Tom

It did cool off here for a few days and the 50's in the morning sure felt good for a change. It did warm up more today again. My parents reported seeing a large flock of Canadian geese fly over the other day. The birds starting to gather is always another good sign here that time is moving on. Fall is my favorite time of year that I look forward to. Yet it is kind of sad and never fails to give me pause to think how quickly another year has passed by.

Oh for the days again when I was a young child and thought summer vacation was a year long instead of three months.

We've had it cooler as of late but heating up again. Expecting 4-5 days in the 90's.

Time to head out to the Mt's for a few days camping with the family. Hope the garden doesn't get too dry while we are gone.

Hi,

Geese are flying over as Canada is kicking some of them out as we have far too many.

Just trying to share with our neighbours to the south.

If they don't going willingly, we deport them.

Raining again .........

Hi,

I would be more than willing to rename them "America Geese "if that meant you would take them all back.

Filthy, dirty animals that ruin beaches, parks and eat the crops. Plus they seem to have unerring accuracy when it comes to my car.

And yet they are protected so can't forcibly evict them or hurt them in any manner.

Have a good evening

Tom

No and they were too high to see their license plates either.

Some people actually feed them around here that have ponds. I've never been too keen on them myself. If I had a pond I would much prefer to have ducks since they are not quite as talkative.

Also I've found they can be pretty aggressive if they have a nest close by. Years ago I darn near took a shovel to one at a customer's home. I was there to install a satellite dish and the only good location clear of trees was in the red zone of her nest.

After some tense moments she agreed to stay at her nest if I would stay where I needed to work and no closer. That bird watched me like a hawk as I did her the whole time I was there.
