That was a pretty interesting weather system that blew through the NE yesterday. The "Alberta Clipper's" energy incorporated with that coastal low which intensified into a nor'easter. Had some pretty decent wind here (gusts 30+ mph), but only a little bit of snow ~1''.. Lost part of my "new" roof again
. It is 3 degrees ouside right now and even the dogs do not want to go outside
. Today and tomorrow will be pretty cold. Then the weather pattern gets interesting
. I think NE will see all kinds of weather midweek on. Jay

All I know is that I am freezing my sorry azz off here this morning and no amount of hot tea has been able to take away the chill! This is when I miss having a job (and a nice warm workplace) the most.

Making matters worse, the wind howled all night long and so many branches fell onto my power wires last night that I thought my lines were coming down. Had to get up four times just to make sure the power was still on and that my wires weren't laying across the road.
I would kill for a little bit of Global Warming today... but the TV guy says I have to wait until Wednesday.

It will probably be colder tomorrow morning in VT and the NE, but then it will warm up. I need it a little warmer to work on my roof, before it rains this week. Today I have to unload the wood "harvest" from my truck; it is -5 degrees with the windchill right now
before I go to the "Big City"- NoHo, the "Moonbeam City, Belly of the Beast"

Yes it been really cold - colder for you guys for sure, but work dosent sleep. However there is something to be said when walking into a house thats nice and comfortable at 78-82 degrees and everyone is running around in shorts. My furnance hasnt been running since Oct -
Tonight is gonna hurt for sure - I will be working out side late for many hours in the open L39 moving firewood and picking up and unloading my new splitter from back of the truck using fork lifts. The splitter weighs over 800 lbs with all packaging....step one is to get it in a warm agarage and put it together...

This is when a wood stove is nice. There is no substitute for that kind of up front and personal heat warming the old bones on a frigid day like this. Even though my heating costs are well under control this winter (and should remain that way), on days like this a nifty wood stove would be awfully darn nice!

I think my roof will be challenging me all winter until it seals. My extension ladder is/was prepositioned in case this would happen.
Wood heat is great! It "warms" one many times over
- cutting it, moving it, splitting it, stacking it, moving it again, and then enjoying it- the fruits of one's efforts; but it sure feels good
