H1N1 has hit home. Not sure if I've ever felt worse in my life. Got treated and booted out of the Emergency rm last night. Now I'm locked in the computer rm until further notice.

Oh Lordy Junk!!! Where and how did you manage to catch the Mexican pig flu???

Good thing you are so old and ornery. They say the older you are, the less likely you are to die from it!

Keep us informed... 'cause I'm sure others here are headed for the exact same thing. Survival tips will be most appreciated I'm sure!!!

For at least ten years I've been avoiding shaking every customers hand (I use to stick mine out as matter of habit) still I'm in contact with the public. I normally have fewer colds than others here...I hope I'll avoid this stinking flu.

Here's wishing you get well soon.....Lots of fluids and rest.

    Well, not just any fluids..

The first warning sign was the sudden feeling a freight train had ran over me. Body aches, then the cough, fever, headache, chills, ect.... I went from feeling fine yesterday about noon, to "just shoot me" by 8PM.

And I know where I caught it too.

    (drumroll please......) THE DOCTORS OFFICE.

Had to do a routine visit friday morning. 18 hours later I'm down for the count.

    Sleep comes in short spurts.

What's so ironic, I WAS going to get my vaccine TOMORROW.

    Why am I not surprised???

Nothing scarier in a situation like this than a doctor's waiting room.

Yeah, all those sick people and all....... What's even more aggrevating, I was there to get test results, ALL of which were good, ALL of which could have been relayed to me by phone.

When I went to the Emergency rm/immediate care center last night, they had a rather odd reaction. When I told them I was coming down with flu symptoms, the triage nurse said "I wish all these sick people would quit coming in here". To which I replied, "How many healthy people normally stop in the emergency romm on a typical saturday night"?

It'll be a couple days before absolute conformation that this is H1N1 and not "regular flu", but the doc that tended to me said he's 99.9% sure it's the "Mexican pig flu"......

I recently had to take the old man (my father, not LarryRB) to his doctor's office for a routine visit. I swear that waiting room was the unhealthiest freakin' place I'd visited in the last 12 months. Sick people coughing their guts out everywhere. You couldn't escape it! It is one of the great ironies of medicine that perfectly healthy people can sit in a doctor's waiting room for 15 minutes and come out sick as a dog.

So did they prescribe Tamiflu? Or are you on your own???
