Default That was a close call

48th anniversary today. Had thought about it last week but forgot about it this AM. Wife is not much better on remembering. the only thing that save me I was already thinking about taking the wife out to dinner today and buying here a nice bouquet of flowers. Looks like the dinner and flowers plan save my sorry arse. Will live another day so there is more changes to botch things up.

Yesiree! Congratulations Mick. You might want to work on getting that computer calendar thing up and running before it's too late. The older we get, the harder is is for injuries to heal.

Thanks for the comment guys. I posted this thinking is was somewhat funny, forgot the anniversary but already had a plan which came in handy and potentially saved my life.

Believe it or not but I did really have intentions to take the wife out to eat and buy the flowers today.

Now, please don't tell me that it was Liver & Onions again (without potato or dessert)... and that you two split the bill!

Somewhere deeply embedded in your existing cranial matter a subconscious "biological alarm clock" sounded.... Good programming occurred somewhere/sometime in your married "ancient past history". You are lucky . Due to lack of sufficient grey matter my "programming" is faulty ; probably due to insufficient early programming

Jay, think you are over thinking this. There is a farmers market in Salem on Wed and in previous yrs I'd take the wife out for a meal and buy her a bouquet of flowers about every other week. We've been so busy of late I've not had the chance to get down the the farmers market. On Tues I decided this was the week we're going. Hadn't said anything to the wife yet but when she asked yesterday morning if it wasn't our anniversary, my first defense was to tell her of my plans to go down to Salem. The 2 items just happened to cross paths at the right time.

Think this could make amends for my oversight? To prove to Doug how cheap I am, these flowers cost a whole $8.

Doug, no liver and onions but that is one of the wifes favorites. Went to a Mongolian grill for lunch. Food was great as usual. Wife topped off her meal with a small dish of ice cream with Chocolate syrup. Limited my meal to low carb veggies and meat.

As long as you didn't split the bill this time... it sounds fine.
