Couple days ago I made mentions about going to look at a generator and find out it's not exactly as represented in the ad. Seems like this happens all to often.
Fast forward to yesterday. I go with my son up to Seattle to look at a Miata, looking for a second one. Talked extensively to the owner, likes what he hears & among the comments is one from the owner that the car would rate a 9 on a 10 point scale. Anyway, get there and start to look the car over. Dusty, the hard top leaning up by a tree. Visual appearance, maybe a 5. Owner notices we came up in a REAL nice Miata that is sparkling. Owner said, are you looking to step up to a newer model, son's current car is 6 yrs newer than what we came to look at. ??? Start the car up and smoke billowing our the exhaust for min at least. After the car has been running for a couple mins, engine drops a cyl and shortly after another cyl is mia. Owner says it's out of gas, ????? so just wait a couple mins and he'll run down a get some. Gets back pours the gas in the tank and starts the engine again. Running smooth but shortly, cyl start dropping out again. Hard to keep our cool over the misrepresentation. Owner understands and says he sorry for our long drive, 200 mi, which he knew ahead of time.
Fast forward to yesterday afternoon. Another car comes up on Craigs list. Close by and sounds interesting. Son gives a call and no answer. Call back shortly and someone does answer. Son said he would like to come take a look. Owner says he's not sure he want to show the car. How about Sun? Maybe I'll show it but not sure.
