This certainly could explain some of the scratches I found.

Oh no No NO!!! The old Dougster™ is very pleased to have two workin' machines in the "fleet" now... even if the new ULDM hasn't actually left the property yet on a paying job. The equipment moving/loading/unloading flexibility is a Godsend and non-rental back-up to the Mahindra is very reassuring. It's also a great marketing tool and just a neat toy to have sitting there in the back yard ready to plunge into serious work! I'm fully convinced that the ULDM would be making money by now if this was anything other than an insanely strained and paranoid economy.

But it does make one think about the fact that the Mahindra can pretty much do it all on its own. I invoke (quote) the ULDM to get the job... and then perform it with the Mahindra/Bradco. Really makes one think how lucky we are that our TLB machines are so versatile. They say it would take a mini-ex in combination with a skidsteer to trump the TLB... but that still requires double the transport hassle and one extra employee.

Went to quote a job yesterday that absolutely would have required the ULDM for a variety of reasons... but Papa and Mama had very different ideas and so no new dirt job for the old Dougster™ this week. Probably a good thing because I am backed up with computer work and looking to take a little Vermont mini-vacation over the extended holiday weekend.

Dougster™
