Default FORD = Fix Or Recall Daily

WASHINGTON (March 7) - Ford Motor Co. is recalling about 100,000 2008 F-Series trucks because the front driver's seat does not conform with federal standards.

Ford says the weld connecting a bracket and the driver's front seat back could crack on a small number of vehicles. As a result, the vehicles do not comply with federal rules for seat back strength.

The recall covers F-250 through F-550 Super Duty trucks. More than 87,000 of the trucks are in the United States and 14,000 are in Canada.

Ford spokesman Wes Sherwood said Thursday that no injuries have been reported. Ford discovered the issue after receiving reports of the weld cracking.

Not to add insult to injury but didn’t I just read, last week, where Ford has a recall on 470,000 Mustangs that require a ‘chip’ upgrade for airbag deployment??

+1, once you go duramax, you never go back.

The seats work fine, but the fed's are whining. Cracks me up. Typical more government "I gotta justify my job and cost other people money"

OK, peel it back one more layer, where did these seats/brackets come from?

Mexico, China, India? (don't tell me USA?)
Check the paint for lead, that may point to the nation of origin.

Kubota BX2350 and more attachments than I have sense to operate.

We're lucky to be living in a time where recalls happen. I can remember back far enough when there were no recalls. Back in the late 50's early 60's, you could by a new car and the tires were overloaded even before you sat in the car and brake were too small.
