Finally catching up with John Deere I see![]()
For those that are not yet aware, AGCO introduced a website about 12 months ago at AGCO Parts Books that lets average-type-folks look up parts on any AGCO brand from the comfort of their own home. The only catch is that a dealer needs to create a login for each person to make sure that each customer ends up associated with a dealer.
The books available online are almost exactly the same as those that are used in the dealership, and even include many of the older models that rebuilders often work on.
They also include the ability to add parts to a Cart, which can then be submitted to the dealer for ordering. The cart is then sent via e-mail to the dealership that created your login. It's a convenient way to order the parts you need during any time of the night, weekend, or holiday. The dealership can then just check their e-mail, pick and bill the parts (and ship if necessary). During harvest it can save you a trip to the dealer, and the otherwise unavoidable waiting line at the parts counter or on the phone.
It can also help avoid miscommunication that could otherwise happen when you are trying to describe a part over the phone - saving everyone time and money. Nobody likes to order a part only to find out later that it's wrong and you need to start at square one again!
If you're curious and want more information, you can find more information about AGCOPartsBooks.com (including how to get a login) on the Van's Implement website.
The only current downside to AGCO's setup is that parts book access is currently restricted to each dealers separate franchises. This means that a login from our dealership gives you:
If you're curious, check it out - the more people that use it, the easier it becomes to convince AGCO to make further investments in the site. The more they invest in it, the better it becomes for everyone to use. PM me or send me an e-mail from the Van's website and I can make you a login!
