I made the list above as a quick reference for members owning a John Deere either powered by or built by Yanmar.

I spent quite some time verifying the data and I am missing some pertinent model information as indicated by the ‘NA’s. If anyone has these models and would like to share or upgrade the list please let us know.
    Thanks,

    Mark

Well, it’s been well over a year when John Deere and Yanmar officially ended their contract agreement…but IMHO they seem to have extended an agreement to finish manufacturing commitments as there are still models made and sold throughout 2007. And my best guess is manufacturing parts support well into the future.

I agree, the new EX3200 looks like the cousin of the JD790 and 3320, sharing sheet metal, instruments, wheels and tires and even the ROPS design and position. I would think that Yanmar exercised certain licenses in design for Cub Cadet in hopes of the model being well received during their product launch….maybe?

Seems like there would be some kind of copy write for john deere.
I mean really. that cub EX3200 is not close to a 3320.
it is a yellow 3320 , with a black bucket. i seen the pics somewhere.
just looks to close to me. looks like thay just copied the plans.
    and painted it yellow.

Sure makes one wonder who instigated the break-up between JD and Yanmar. I suspect there will still be some kind of relationship as long as both companies benefit.

With the entry of the Yani-Cub and its appearence of being a JD in Yellow and black clothing, just how much ownership did/does JD have over the Yanmar built machines. And how much Tech help did JD provide Yanmar over the years. I'd have a hard time beliving JD had much ownership of the design and letting Yanmar continue building the machine with a competitors name on it.

I'm sure we'll know more about this changing relationship Yanmar has/had with 2 American Co's at some point in the future.
Practice makes perfect: After many decade of hard work and practice, it now takes almost no effort to get tired.

Yeah...here we have two Huge players in the Ag game...and if Yanmar built the John Deere tractors and engines exactly to Deere's specifications they just have to retain the design license or JD would be screaming foul as soon as the first (EX3200) Cub Cadet was unveiled. But….there are many Yanmar tractors commonly used in Asia and Europe that look like red John Deere’s.

We all know how the “Rumor Mill” perpetuates misinformation but I was told (18 months ago) that the two newest Yanmar models currently sold with specifications that include: The Ke-140 and Ke-160, with the 3TN66 and 3TNE68 3 cylinder engines, wet disc brakes, standard 540 PTO, 4WD and the geared 8 forward 4 reverse transmission, and both models come stock with power steering. The two models were built below (JD’s) suggested MSRP and were originally designed for John Deere. A very affordable, small tractor targeting small land owners and hobby farmers….If it’s true what happened??

Edit...I forgot to mention Will Cub Cadet import this model, paint it yellow and black and make it available for the same market it was originally intended??

    Mark -

No worries about this topic not generating interest I for one would love to see the long term effects or plan.

From what I see specification wise - I have to be honest its coming up short in the hydraulic area. Marketing hype is king IMHO, make it a better performer than your identical twin or competition and you gain market share. Besides the requirement to offer something different than Deere (their twin but with less performance hydraulic), they have to go after the orange guys too! You got to beat the man to be the man, IMHO in the compact world. Just my .02 cents
